Epic Melee is an explosive card game where players throw their champions into a boiling arena to seize coveted loot in a merciless melee. Its key mechanic? You choose two cards… but only one will remain in play when the torch reaches you. Bluffing, strategy, and dirty tricks shape every confrontation. Get ready: here, only the most cunning will triumph.
What does Epic Melee have up its sleeve?
Epic Melee is a fast-paced and chaotic card battle where every decision can change the game. With the Twin Choice mechanic, you play on uncertainty: two cards are played, one visible, one secret.
When the Torch reaches you, the moment becomes decisive: choose your final Champion from these two options. Their power activates immediately, before passing the Torch to the player of your choice… and reviving the thrill.
Once the battle is over, only the two best Champions will win Loot! After 6 rounds of combat, the player with the highest value Loot wins.
How to play Epic Melee?
Epic Melee is played in 6 rounds.
- Twin choice: all players simultaneously choose two cards from their hand and place them face down in front of them.
- Partial reveal: simultaneously, the card on the right is revealed.
- Commitment: the player with the Torch (initiative token) decides which card to keep in combat. If it is the face-down card, they reveal it. They take the other card back into their hand.
- Passing the Torch: the player who has the Initiative token passes it to the player of their choice, who must then Commit one of their cards.
- End of combat: once all players have committed a card, the combat is resolved and the loot is awarded. Gold loot for 1st place, Silver loot for 2nd place.
