Kingdom Crossing

Build a new bridge for the Kingdom
In Kingdom Crossing, you play as a beaver who is commissioned by the Queen to gather the resources and decorations needed to build the 8th bridge of the Kingdom of Brightspring. To achieve this mission, you’ll earn the cooperation of the forest animals as you travel around the kingdom, never crossing the same bridge more than once in a single day.

Get help from the 5 forest guilds
The animals of the Forest, divided into 5 Guilds, not only provide you with the necessary resources,
but also offer their support in different ways:
- the Foxes grant you immediate Prestige,
- the Owls provide you with money,
- the Bears allow you to gain advantages from your structures,
- the Wild Boars improve your movement around the Kingdom,
- the Deer offer you additional lumber, stone, sap or food.
Choosing which turn to take and who to rely on will not be an easy task for you, but it will decide which of you the Queen will entrust with directing the construction of the eighth bridge.

How does a Kingdom Crossing game unfold?
The Kingdom is divided into 4 regions, connected together with 7 bridges. In each region you may find Characters to meet or Structures to use. Players’ Beavers move from one region to another, crossing bridges they did not already cross during the round. That’s the main concept of the game !
A Kingdom Crossing game consists of 4 rounds. Each round is divided into 3 parts:
- Morning, when the birds land in the forest and players collect their earnings.
- Noon, when players take turns choosing an Action tile and resolving it. Each player chooses a total of 4 Action tiles per round.
- Evening, when Beavers returning to one of their Houses earn bonus income.
Action tiles are at the heart of the game: 5 tiles allow you to move around the forest and recruit a Character. The 6th tile lets you meet the Queen: there’s only one Queen per round, and only the 1st to meet her wins the card, its bonus and the 1st player token.
To win, you must obtain more prestige than your opponents at the end of the game’s 4 rounds. Through its programming and engine-building mechanics, you can earn prestige in a variety of ways:
- Bridge Goals: these are shared goals, with a slight racing dimension, since the first to achieve a goal wins more points than the second, etc.
- Favors of the Queen: these are personal objectives. You start the game with one Favor of the Queen, and you can collect new ones by performing various achievements!
- Your guild cards: each guild can earn you prestige, provided you’ve invested in embellishments (flowers & sculptures) and the guild marker has moved beyond the embellishments in question.
- Your level on the Invest track at the end of the game.
- Your Structures at the end of the game give you prestige according to the level of your lowest resource marker.
